Memorial Boulevard in Martinsville, VA is named in honor of World War II soldiers who did not return from battle. There is a special monument there placed at a ceremony on October 16, 1954. The Ford brothers, Heck, Tom, and Pete figured prominently in the construction of the Memorial; each brother lost a son in that War. A plaque in memory of all who died was unveiled by Mrs. Ryland Compton, pictured in the center link, whose husband was killed in the battle of Coral Sea. The plaque was donated by Pannill Post 42 of the American Legion.  Memorial Map : Plaque Dedication Photo : Memorial Plaque
